On October
15-17, 1999, a symposium on “State – Religion Relations. Historical
Aspects” was held in Istanbul. The symposium was sponsored by the Writers’
and Journalists’ Foundation, with the collaboration of the University
Complutense of Madrid. Prof. Niyazi Oktem was the Symposium Coordinator.
