The Europe Study “Mapping Migration in Europe, Mapping Churches’ Responses” has been launched and presented today to some 30 participants of the annual meeting of the General Secretaries of the National Council of Churches in Europe taking place in Palermo, Italy from the 7th to the 10th of April 2008. The Study has been undertaken by the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe and the Nova Research Center in Gloucester, UK. It has been commissioned to CCME by the World Council of Churches, which considers migration and the changing of ecclesial landscapes as core topics for ecumenical work.
The study “Mapping Migration in Europe – Mapping Churches’ Responses” attempts to provide information on actual immigration and emigration figures for 47 European countries, and seeks to identify the diversity of Christian presence.
