Religion in the 21st Century

The last two decades have made it obvious that religion is, and will continue to be, a decisive factor in many areas and in all types of societies. Religion influences both the life of individual human beings and the construction of collective norms – from legal systems and international politics to the official recognition of various religious holidays.

This research priority area brings together researchers from all of the University of Copenhagen’s six faculties in order to combine the study of separate themes into an overall picture of religion in the 21st century. The main activities of the research priority area will be research, education and communication – in terms of publications, conference and workshops.
